Message	Yes, bass ackwards. Impedance is just that, a resistance, an obstacle. In this case, it's a measurement of the speaker's resistance to current. Amps are rated for a range. Down to 2 ohms is typical, so they can operate effectively from 2-8ohms. Over 8 ohms and you lose efficiency, and the output level from the amplifier is reduced. If you go too low in impedance on the speaker, the amp can flow too much current, causing it to over heat, clip, or other failure mode. It's very similar to putting a 100w light bulb in a 50w socket.
